Dziwaczne Odkrycia: My Polish A to Z! Can I Visit A Polish Settlement With Every Letter of the Polish Alphabet?

I love to set myself challenges in life. On here, last year in January, I started a Reader Vote / Poland Poll every month to dictate my destiny for the following month. Having been coping with severe depression and dealing with liars the last 18 months, the excitement of others controlling my upcoming tourist jaunts gave me glimmers of happiness and I decided to try and visit EVERY Polish Province by the end of 2017. Halfway through December, I achieved this goal on arrival in Białystok and was fairly happy that I had done it, aided by reader votes along the way sending me to Provinces at certain times. It all added spice to my journey and kept me perky.

My challenge for 2018 is now to visit EVERY UNESCO World Heritage Site in Poland, so please follow my journey on here, on my Facebook Page and on my Instagram Feed to see if I succeed. I am always delighted and happy to hear from new readers, followers and fellow tourists. But I have another challenge, that I will not set a date for (yet) but I want to visit at least ONE settlement beginning with every letter of the Polish alphabet! There are quite a few places left to go, so to add spice to my journeys to these UNESCO sites, perhaps I will be staying over in a town, village or city with a new first letter!

I will of course be using only the Polish Alphabet for this challenge, as letters in English such as X, Q and V do not officially exist in the Polish language, which is tricky to learn – if you see those letters in a Polish, they are imported and not natural in that word. There are also some tough letters that I cannot seem to find village names starting with – so if you live in a place beginning with Ą, Ę, Ń, Ó or Y please tell me and I will come and visit!! If I cannot find such villages beginning with those letters, I will transfer it to second, third, fourth letter etc. accordingly until I have cracked it! Here is a rough list so far. I have been to settlements for 17 of the letters of the Polish alphabet. 5 I cannot find a settlement and 9 remain undone. Yet another challenge, so stay tuned!
