Pracujące Poniedziałki: Working Mondays, You’ve Been Too Busy Lately You Haven’t Had The Time

The irony of my “Pracujące Poniedziałki / Working Mondays” feature is that i have been too busy working to actually post about my jobs and my life!! For a few years now, I wrote about different jobs l did on my 15 year travel journey which included broccoli farming in Australia, welcoming guests to events in Hong Kong and serving food and drink between England, France, Guernsey and Jersey. But since teaching English in the Kong from 2011 to 2014 i had been a professional travel blogger. From 2016 to 2021 I have now managed to mix my incomes between writing, freelancing, teaching (online and face to face now), editing and proofreading all based in Poland. It has been some respite to try and escape long term depression. But some people may think that my work slowed down – it didn’t. It got BUSIER. While this blog and project may appear to have less new articles appearing than my previous writing projects, it’s actually not the case. I’ve written MORE since NIMIP began than I did before I had it!! It’s just that I have two websites now, plus many books.

For the past 12 months Northern Irishman In Poland ( Połnocny Irlandczyk w Polsce) has risen in readership and developed more than I could have expected. It wasn’t meant to be like that. It was just that my previous blog, Don’t Stop Living carried a curse so it had to end. This new start has only seen honest people interact (so far, at least). It gave me more genuine friends and readers than Titanicated Don’t Stop Living ever could.

Bullets for your brain today; but we’ll forget it all again

In July 2017 I made a welcome return to glorious Gdynia and this was the start of a new writing project for me. I started to write for Culture Trip as a Poland expert and therefore my best articles on Poland are now on their website rather than my own – it’s a great project! Yes I still sometimes run my features on here such as Smaczne Środy, Piątkowe Picię and Śmieszne Historie o Piłce Nożnej w Polsce (my football stories). But my bar reviews, restaurant tips etc. now go on Culture Trip. I love it.

Backpacking in Zalipie, Małopolska Province

So I now tour every Province in Poland and write about them. Culture Trip is a fantastic website and app which covers the world with well written and researched guides to as many cities, towns, villages, communities etc. as possible.

Culture Trip – Getting Bigger

One day, Culture Trip will be the best genuine travel website in the world. The reason is – the experts on there have all lived, breathed, travelled in the places they are writing about. So please check it out. I am writing mostly about the Pomorskie Province of Poland but it is my dream to cover all cities, towns and villages for them. I want the whole of Poland explored and covered in detail on there. I am proud to work for Culture Trip and put my all into it. As well as Poland, I have also covered Micronations / Wacaday Republics for them and also write about football, the Soviet Union and of course Northern Ireland.

Here are some of my favourite articles on Culture Trip:

Aside from this work, I am also teaching Business and Conversational English, Copywriting, Proof Reading and doing the same travel writer and sponsored posts I did before. Due to COVID, I failed on my quest to backpack 200 countries by the age of 40 and I sit currently on 186. However, I need to add that everyday is a struggle against suicide and I fear for every moment of everyday. It’s tough. Best wishes.
